Montessori Learning Center

Expressing the Finest Qualities of Citizenship

Some Commonly Asked Questions and Answers

When was MLC founded: 2005

What is the student to teacher ratio? 5:1

How do we know that MLC is a “true” Montessori school?
Montessori Learning Center is fully accredited by the Association Montessori Internationale and participates in regular re-accreditation procedures.

What is the difference between your School and other private and public schools?
Montessori Learning Center provides an enriched Montessori education for children ages 2 ½ to 6 years old. Our Campus employs highly educated and trained teachers who possess University degrees along with Montessori diplomas. Fully accredited by the AMI and AMS our School follows the Montessori method closely. Our classrooms are equipped with Montessori apparatus and materials that require the student to use all five senses while benefiting from a warm, functional and prepared environment. Unlike other private and public schools, MLC provides lessons to students on a one-on-one basis or in small groups, and children learn at their own pace which eliminates stress on the student. And with our smaller class sizes our teachers can focus more time on individual students.

Where do the children go after the Primary program?
All students are enrolled for the primary program offered at MLC. Our graduates at Montessori Learning Center attend some of the best elementary schools throughout San Diego. We provide a complementary admissions service, where we guide you through the admissions process for your child.  One of our many goals is to assist you in providing the best education for your child.

What’s the next step? I’m interested in my child enrolling at Montessori Learning Center.
Call the school and we will arrange for you to come to the School and meet the Director, observe in a classroom, tour our facility and have all your questions answered.

What does my tuition payment include for the School year?
Your tuition payment does more than pay the salaries of the staff; it also funds all classroom materials and supplies, instruments for the music program, most field trips, extracurricular activities, private piano classes, group yoga classes, language classes, studio art material, textbooks, workbooks, spring and holiday Concerts (except costumes), and new materials for each classroom.
